Last night I was surprised by Blue Ash City Council. During the "Hearings from Citizens" part of the meeting, I spoke up once again, encouraging the city council to start video recording and broadcasting public meetings. At the end of the meeting, a surprise motion was made to instruct the city manager to initiate video record meetings for public viewing. All council members voted aye, even those that had opposed it beforehand.
Congratulations to Blue Ash for joining the rest of the nearby cities here in Hamilton county for taking this positive step. Realistically, there will not be a surge in viewing nor a decrease in public attendance; both are light. What it will do is to increase transparency in government and decrease mistrust in government. Both are needed at this level and higher levels of government.
